あまり一般的に知られることのない世界、メッセージを映画を通じて伝えたいと思い、映画制作に取り組んでいます。映画を観て、大切な人に連絡しようかなとか、久しぶりに会いに行こうかなとか、そういう気持ちになって欲しい。
映画を観たあとには優しい気持ちが残る、そういう映画をつくります。

2022年釜山国際映画祭 キム・ジソク賞 ノミネート作品
17歳で殺人を犯し懲役20年を言い渡され た少女の再審を巡る法廷映画。加害者である少女視点からだけではなく、被害者両親の視点も織り交ぜることで、両者の苦悩をリアルに描き、刑罰と少年犯罪の狭間に潜む闇を描いている。
Seven years ago, a high school student was killed by a friend. The parents of the dead girl are now divorced, and the father drowns his anger and sorrow in alcohol. Then one day, the daughter’s murderer files a suit to have her sentence reduced. The father convinces his ex-wife that their daughter’s murderer should not be freed, and the two confront the murderer in court. December is a story about a family that falls apart after the death of a daughter, and then, in times of crisis, comes back together. As the parents confront the murderer and hear her out, the film shows us these same characters moving toward forgiveness and redemption. Director Anshul Chauhan once again raises a serious question about redemption, following his previous film Kontora (2019). Shogen, the star of Gensan Punch which won the Kim Jiseok Award in 2021, gives an impressive performance as the father.

幼少期に右膝下を失い、義足で生きる男が、プロボクサーになるという夢を諦め切れずフィリピンに渡る。現地の人々の陽気さと生命力、自分と違う価値観や誇りのあり方に触れ、少しずつ成長していく男。そこで出会った老練のトレーナーに、幼いころ別れた父親像を重ねながらプロのリングを目指す。
Copped the Kim Jiseok Award at the prestigious 26th Busan International Film Festival.
Nao has had a prosthetic leg since a childhood accident.
But the main impediment to his dreams of becoming a professional boxer is not his disability, nor his lack of determination. Rather, it is the entrenched attitudes towards disability in his homeland of Japan. Reluctant to give up, Nao travels instead to the Philippines to train in the hope of earning a professional boxing licence.
